[영국] 스코티시 워터, 피터헤드-엘론 상수도관 교체 공사 완료

피터헤드-엘론 23km 구간 교체…수도관망 회복탄력성 강화해 맑은물 공급

스코티시 워터(Scottish Water)는 3천850만 파운드(약 745억2천753만 원) 규모의 피터헤드(Peterhead)-엘론(Ellon) 상수도관 교체 공사를 완료했다고 밝혔다.

피터헤드와 엘론 구간의 상수도관은 1973년에 매설돼 배관 파열의 가능성이 높고 급수 중단이 반복됐다. 

스코티시 워터는 2023년 9월 5일 상수관망의 회복탄력성을 향상시키고 물공급을 보장하기 위해협력사인 칼레도니아 워터 얼라이언스(CWA) 및 시공사인 AG 윌슨과 함께 상수관망 용량 증설을 위한 공사에 착수했으며, 예정보다 3개월 앞당겨 완료됐다. 

에릭 로스(Eric Ross) 스코티시 워터 엘론 지역 운영팀장은 “이번 프로젝트를 성공적으로 완료해 해당 지역 주민들이 앞으로도 깨끗하고 신선하며 맛있는 물을 계속해서 이용할 수 있게 되어 매우 기쁘다”라고 밝혔다.

데이비드 파스칼(David Pasca) CWA 프로젝트 매니저는 "이번 프로젝트에서 23.6km 구간의 상수도관 설치 작업이 신속하게 진행된 것은 매우 고무적인 일"이라면서 "토지 소유주 및 담당자들과 좋은 관계를 구축한 덕분에 예정보다 일찍 토지를 반환할 수 있었다"고 말했다.

Scottish Water completes Peterhead to Ellon water main renewal ahead of schedule

 

Scottish Water has successfully completed a £38.5million upgrade of the water main in Ellon ahead of schedule.

Alongside alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) and contractor AG Wilson, the three organisations have increased the capacity of the water network.

In turn, this will allow future growth in the area.

The main, which stretches 23km between Ellon and Peterhead was initially laid in 1973 and will now benefit from the upgrade, three months ahead of schedule.

Scottish Water’s Operations Team Leader for the area, Eric Ross said: “We’re delighted to be able to complete this project and ensure customers in the area continue to get clean, fresh and great tasting water for years to come.

“I would like to thank the customers in the area for their patience while we complete the works and of course our alliance and contractors for the excellent work they have put in.”

CWA Project Manager David Pascall said “The quick progress of the 23.6km pipelaying on this project has been excellent.

“We built up good relationships with the landowners and agents, and we were able to hand back land earlier than scheduled”.
