빌라모우라 및 카르발할 하수처리장건설…통합 처리 용량은 시간당 1천356㎥

스페인의 글로벌 물·환경기업인 악시오나(ACCIONA)는 포르투갈 알가르브에 위치한 빌라모우라 하수처리장(Vilamoura wastewater treatment plant)과 리스본 지구에 위치한 포르투갈 도시인 마프라(Mafra)에 위치한 카르발할 하수처리장(Carvalhal wastewater treatment plant)의 3차 처리를 위한 두 건의 신규 계약을 포르투갈에서 체결했다.

아구아스 두 알가르브(Aguas do Algarve)가 현지 기업 테크노렘(Tecnorem)과 함께 수주한빌라모우라 하수처리장의 3차 처리에서는 재활용 하수에서 고품질의 물을 생산하여 골프장 관개에 사용한다. 이 처리에는 시간당 1천㎥ 용량의 초여과 기술을 사용한다. 이 처리장은 2026년 중반에 가동될 예정이다.

한편, 카발할 하수처리장 계약은 아구아스 두 테조 아틀란티코(Aguas do Tejo Atlantico)가 수주했다. 이 하수처리장은 시간당 356㎥을 처리할 수 있는 활성 슬러지 기술을 사용할 예정이다.

이번 계약에 따라 하수처리 시설은 처음으로 카르발할(Carvalhal) 지역에 도달하여 리산드로강(Lizandro River)과 그 결과 관광 해변인 포스 두 리산드로(Foz do Lizandro)를 오염시키지 않기 위한 적절한 환경 조치를 시행하는 데 기여한다. 두 계약의 총 공사 규모는 600만 유로(약 88억 원)이며, 통합 처리 용량은 시간당 1천356㎥이다.

악시오나는 포르투갈에서 70개 이상의 인프라 프로젝트 건설에 참여했다. 여기에는 리스본의 오리엔테역(Oriente Station), 빌라 노바 데 가이아(Vila Nova de Gaia)와 오포르토(Oporto)를 연결하는 인판테 돈 헨리케 다리(Infante Don Henrique Bridge), 알가르베의 주요 천연자원 중 하나인 리아 포모사 자연공원(Ria Formosa Natural Park)의 일부인 도시 강변 지역인 올하오 마리나(Olhao marina), 알렌테호 지역의 과디아나강(Guadiana River)에 있는 알케바댐(Alqueva dam) 등이 포함된다.

악시오나는 포르투갈 물 분야에서 30개 이상의 정수장 및 하·폐수처리장을 건설했다. 알가르베 지역에 식수를 공급하는 알칸타릴하 정수장은 최대 생산 능력이 하루 약 26만㎥이며, 아베이루에 있는 술-일하보(Sul-Ilhavo) 하수처리장은 하루 약 3만9천300㎥를 처리할 수 있다.

다른 주목할 만한 프로젝트로는 파로시에서 동쪽으로 2km 떨어진 하루 처리용량이 2만8천㎥ 이상인 파로-올하오 하수처리장(Sul-Ilhavo WWTP), 알가르베 포르티마오에 있는 콤파네이라 하수처리장(용량이 3만2천㎥/일 이상), 그리고 중부-남부 지역인 세투발 지역 주민 4천100명에게 서비스를 제공할 에르미다스 두 사도 하수처리장(Ermidas do Sado WWTP)이 있다.

ACCIONA wins two new water treatment contracts in Portugal

The company will carry out the treatment of wastewater in these two plants, ensuring the elimination of pollutants.

 

ACCIONA has been awarded two new contracts in Portugal for the tertiary treatment of water from the Vilamoura wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the Algarve and the Carvalhal WWTP in Mafra, a Portuguese town in the Lisbon District.

The tertiary treatment of the Vilamoura WWTP, awarded by Aguas do Algarve, together with the local company Tecnorem, will produce high-quality water from reclaimed wastewater, which will then be used for the irrigation of golf courses. The treatment will be carried out using ultrafiltration technology, with a capacity of 1,000 m³/h. The plant is expected to be operational by mid-2026.

On the other hand, the contract for the Carvalhal WWTP has been awarded by Aguas do Tejo Atlantico. The WWTP will use activated sludge technology with capacity to treat 356 m³/h. 

Thanks to this contract, the wastewater treatment will reach the town of Carvalhal for the first time and will contribute to implementing the appropriate environmental measures to avoid polluting the Lizandro River and, consequently, the touristic beach of Foz do Lizandro.

The two contracts total €6 million and have a combined treatment capacity of 1,356 m³/h.

VAST EXPERIENCE

ACCIONA has participated in the construction of more than 70 infrastructure projects in Portugal, one of its first international markets. These include the Oriente Station in Lisbon; the Infante Don Henrique Bridge, which links Vila Nova de Gaia and Oporto; the Olhao marina, in the city's riverside area, which is part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, one of the Algarve's major natural resources; and the Alqueva dam on the Guadiana River in the Alentejo region.

In the water sector, the company has built more than 30 wastewater and drinking water treatment plants. The Alcantarilha water purification plant stands out, which provides drinking water in the Algarve area, with a maximum production capacity of around 260,000 m³/day, as well as the Sul-Ilhavo WWTP in Aveiro, with a capacity of almost 39,300 m³/day.

Other noteworthy projects are the Faro-Olhao WWTP, two kilometers east of the city of Faro, with capacity of more than 28,000 m³/day; the Companheira WWTP in Portimao, Algarve, with capacity to treat more than 32,000 m³/day; and the Ermidas do Sado WWTP, which will serve 4,100 residents in the district of Setubal, in the central-southern region of the country.
