Lanxess가 아시아 시장을 겨냥한 해수 역삼투압 멤브레인을 출시했다. Lanxess의 책임자 Alexander Scheffler은" 추가된 해수 담수 능력은 Lanxess 성장에 중요한 요인이며 아시아는 전략적으로 중요한 지역"이라고 밝혔다. 아시아는 인구 성장과 지하수 확보가 어려워지면서 수자원 확보가 힘들게 될 것이다. 이러한 상황에서 해수 담수화는 중요한 산업으로 성장할 것으로 예상한다며 아시아 시장 겨냥 이유를 설명했다.

Chemicals company Lanxess has targeted Asia with the addition of seawater reverse osmosis membranes to its Lewabrane range.
"Adding seawater desalination capabilities to our solutions portfolio is key to Lanxess' growth. Asia is strategically important to us," said Lanxess director Alexander Scheffler.

The sea water reverse osmosis products add to the company's Lewatit range of ion exchange resins and LewaPlus simulation and design software which incorporates ion exchange resin and reverse osmosis systems in water treatment plant designs.

Lanxess said seawater desalination was growing in importance in Asia where water resources were becoming squeezed by growing populations and the need to end earlier groundwater extraction methods that have contributed to urban subsidence. The company said it was "uniquely positioned" to offer integrated treatment using reverse osmosis and ion exchange as it was one of only two companies in the world to offer both technologies.
