[미국] 피에몬테 워터 컴퍼니, 새로운 주 인증 수질 연구소 설립

일관된 수질 모니터링 및 신속한 검사로 식수 품질 및 고객 신뢰도 제고 기대

피에몬테 워터 컴퍼니(Piedmont Water Company)는 주(州) 인증 수질 연구소인 오코니 호수 연구소(Lake Oconee Laboratory)를 설립한다고 밝혔다. 이 연구소에서 피에몬테는 83개 수자원 시스템 전반에 걸쳐 고객 신뢰를 강화하고 품질을 향상시키고자 한다. 그린즈보로(Greensboro)에 위치한 이 연구소는 오는 가을에 전면 가동될 예정이다.

브렌트 허스트 피에몬테 워터 컴퍼니의 COO는 “지역사회가 확장됨에 따라 당사는 지역사회와 함께 성장하는 것을 목표로 한다”며 “이번 연구소 설립은 피에몬테가 업계의 선구자임을 보여주는 사례이며, 이와 같은 발전을 통해 고객과 지역사회에 봉사하게 된 것을 영광으로 생각한다”고 전했다.

오코니 호수 연구소는 총대장균군 분석을 수행할 예정이며, 미국 조지아주 환경보호국으로부터 미생물 관련 인증을 받았다. 최첨단 연구소에서는 엄격한 숙련도 테스트를 통해 검증된 화학 및 조류 테스트도 수행할 예정이다.

내부 실험을 실시함으로써 피에몬테는 수질을 더욱 일관되게 모니터링하고 더 신속하게 검사 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 이 연구소를 통해 피에몬테는 총 트리할로메탄(TTHM) , 녹조와 같은 화학 및 자연 물질을 모두 면밀히 평가하고 처리할 수 있다.

새로운 연구소와 설립과 함께  피에몬테 워터 컴퍼니는 고객을 위한 최고 품질의 식수를 보장하기 위해 지난 5년 동안 상당한 투자와 시스템 업그레이드를 진행해 왔다. 이러한 투자 중에는 오코니 호수의 레이놀즈(Reynolds)에 있는 조지아 최대 규모의 개인 지표수 처리 시설이 있다. 피에몬테는 고객 만족과 품질을 최우선으로 해 전국적으로 상하수 시설에 대한 높은 기준을 지속적으로 설정하고 있다.

Piedmont Water Company Reveals New State-Certified Water Quality Laboratory

Lake Oconee Laboratory furthers Piedmont’s commitment to quality drinking water and customer confidence

 

Piedmont Water Company is excited to announce its establishment of a state-certified water quality laboratory. With new possibilities ahead, Lake Oconee Laboratory spearheads company efforts to bolster customer confidence and enhance quality across Piedmont’s 83 water systems. The laboratory, located in Greensboro, will open for full operation in Fall 2024. 

“As our community flourishes, Piedmont Water aims to grow alongside it,” said Brent Hurst, COO of Piedmont Water Company. “We are extremely proud of our new laboratory and eagerly await its historic opening. This milestone exemplifies Piedmont as a trailblazer, and we’re honored to serve our customers and communities with advancements like this.”

Lake Oconee Laboratory will perform total coliform analysis and is certified by the GA Environmental Protection Division for microbiology. The state-of-the-art lab will also conduct chemical and algae testing, verified through rigorous proficiency testing.

By testing in-house and eliminating out-of-state sourcing, Piedmont can continue to monitor water quality even more consistently and with faster results. The lab allows Piedmont to closely evaluate and treat both chemicals and natural substances, such as Total Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) and algal bloom.

In tandem with the new laboratory, PWC has made substantial investments and system upgrades over the last five years to ensure the highest quality drinking water for customers. Among these investments is Georgia’s single largest private surface water treatment plant in Reynolds at Lake Oconee. By prioritizing customer satisfaction and quality, Piedmont Water Company continues to set a high standard for water and wastewater utilities nationwide.
