[UAE] 두바이, 6900만 달러 규모 수도관 프로젝트 96.4% 달성

UAE(아랍에미리트 연방)에 속해 있는 두바이(Dubai)는 물의 흐름을 증가시킬뿐만 아니라 효율성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 물 네트워크(water network)를 개발하는 데 상당한 진전을 보이고 있다.

DEWA(Dubai Electric and Water Authority ; 두바이 전기·수도국)는 총 약 AED(UAE 화폐단위) 2억 6천500만 달러(DIR 6천950만 US달러)의 비용으로 두바이 전역에 36.6km의 수도 전송망을 확장하는 프로젝트의 96.4%를 완료했다

DEWA(두바이 전기·수도국)의 대표이사 겸 CEO인 새아드 모하메드 알 테일러(Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer)는 DEWA가 전기와 수도 네트워크의 생성, 전송, 분배 및 제어에 있어 최신 기술을 사용하고 있다고 말했다. 

DEWA는 물의 흐름을 증가시킬 뿐만 아니라 효율성과 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 물 네트워크를 개발하는 데 있어 상당한 성과를 거두었다. 이것은 전반적인 개발 요구를 충족시키고, 수요 증가에 보조를 맞추고, 저수량을 증가시킨다. 

이러한 노력은 1988년 42%였던 용수 전달 및 분배 네트워크의 손실을 현재 5.1%로 감소시켰다. 이는 세계에서 가장 낮은 점수 중 하나이며 물 손실률(water losses)이 약 15%인 북미에 비해 양호한 수치이다. 

DEWA(두바이 전기·수도국)의 워터 앤 시빌(Water & Civil)의 총괄 부사장인 압둘라 오바이둘라(Abdullah Obaidullah)는 "이 프로젝트 위치에 셰이크 모하메드 빈 자이드 로드(Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road) 및 에미레이트 로드(Emirates Road)를 따라 확장된 확장이 포함되어 있다"고 말했다. 

하샨 펌프장(Hassyan Pump Station)에서 두바이 인베스트먼트 파크(Dubai Investments Park)와 두바이 월드 센트럴(Dubai World Central) 사이의 연결, 그리고 나칼리 저수지(Nakhali Reservoir)에서 두바이-하타 로드(Dubai-Hatta Road) 및 무하이스나(Muhaisnah) 따라 앨러위어(Alaweer) 로터리까지, 그리고 마검 우물(Margham wells)에서 두바이 알아인 로드(Dubai Al Ain Road)까지이다. 

이 프로젝트는 2021년 8월까지 완료될 예정이다. 특히, 이 프로젝트는 두 개의 섹션으로 이루어져 있다. 총 1천200mm 직경의 A구간과 1천200mm, 600mm 10.15km의 B구간은 총 24.12km에 이른다. 

이 프로젝트에는 (다른 직경의) 유리강화 에폭시(GRE) 수도관의 공급, 설치, 테스트 및 커미셔닝과 GRE 챔버(chamber)의 프리캐스트(precast)가 포함된다.

Dubai's $69mn water pipeline project reaches 96.4% completion

Dubai is making significant progress in developing its water network to enhance its efficiency and reliability as well as increase the water flow 

Dubai  Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed 96.4% of its project to extend its water transmission network by 36.6 kilometres across Dubai, at a total cost of about AED 256 million ($69.5mn). 

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said that DEWA uses the latest technologies in the generation, transmission, distribution and control of electricity and water networks. 

DEWA has made significant achievements in developing the water network to enhance its efficiency and reliability as well as increase the water flow. This meets the overall development needs, keeps pace with growing demand, and increases water reserves. 

These efforts have reduced the losses in water transmission and distribution networks from 42% in 1988 to 5.1% currently. This is one of the lowest scores in the world and compares favourably to North America, where water losses are around 15%. 

Abdullah Obaidullah, Executive Vice President of Water & Civil at DEWA, said that the project locations include extensions along Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road; and connections between the Hassyan Pump Station to Dubai Investments Park and Dubai World Central; from Nakhali Reservoir to Alaweer roundabout alongside the Dubai-Hatta Road and Muhaisnah; and from Margham wells to Dubai Al Ain Road. The project should be completed by August 2021. 

The project has two sections. Section A with 12.52 kilometres of 1200mm dia in total, and Section B with 13.97 kilometres of 1200mm & 10.15 kilometres of 600mm making to a total of 24.12 Kilometres. 

The project includes the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Glass-Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) water pipes (in different diameters), and also precast GRE chambers.
