UAE의 두바이 수전력청(DEWA ; Dubai Electricity and Water Authority)은 물 스마트 분배 관리 시스템(Water Smart Distribution Management System)을 출시하여 물 분배 네트워크의 가시성과 관리를 강화했다. 또한 자동화, 운영 효율성, 물 공급의 신뢰성 및 물 손실을 줄이는 데 있어 전 세계에 DEWA의 우수성을 개선하고 있다.

원격 제어 및 모니터링은 물론 혁신적인 스마트 장비 및 시스템을 위해 24시간 내내 중앙 집중식 시스템을 갖추고 있다. 또한 이 시스템은 전송 파이프라인과 배전 파이프라인 사이의 상호 연결에 설치된 원격 터미널 장치(RTUs ; Remote Terminal Units)를 사용한다.

또한 첨단 물 SCADA(Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition ; 원격감지 제어시스템) 및 유압 관리 시스템과 연결된다. 시스템은 결함 위치 및 격리를 개선하고 비용을 절감한다.

알 타이어(Al Tayer) CEO는 이어 “이 전략은 2030년까지 물 소비량을 30% 줄이는 것을 목표로 한다. 물 네트워크 손실을 줄이기 위한 노력의 일환으로 우리는 스마트 통합 시스템을 사용하여 시설과 서비스를 관리하고 운영 효율성을 높이고 있다”라면서 “DEWA는 또한 고객이 사용량을 사전에 관리하고 모니터링할 수 있도록 두바이에 200만 개 이상의 스마트 전기 및 수도 계량기를 설치했다”라고 덧붙였다.

DEWA는 지속 가능한 개발의 필요성과 증가하는 수요를 충족시키기 위해 물의 양을 증가시키고 효율성과 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 물 네트워크를 개발하는 데 중요한 성과를 거두었다. 이것은 품질, 가용성, 신뢰성 및 효율성의 최고 표준을 따른다.

DEWA는 전 세계에서 가장 혁신적인 유틸리티 중 하나가 되었다. 그 결과는 2020년 유럽과 미국의 6∼7%에 비해 전력 네트워크 손실을 3.3%로 줄임으로써 유럽 및 미국 최고의 기업을 능가했다. DEWA는 수도 네트워크 손실을 북미지역의 15%와 비교하여 5.3%로 줄였다.

DEWA Water Smart Distribution Management System benchmarks global position for reducing water losses

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its Water Smart Distribution Management System to increase the visibility and management of its water distribution network. It also improves the automation, efficiency of operations, reliability of water supplies, and DEWA’s excellence worldwide in reducing water losses. 

It has a centralised around the clock system for remote control and monitoring, as well as innovative smart equipment and systems. The system also uses Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) installed at interconnections between the transmission and distribution pipelines. 

In addition, it is linked with advanced water SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition) and hydraulic-management systems. The system will improve fault location and isolation, and lower costs.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, praised DEWA’s efforts to develop proactive and innovative measures using its advanced smart grid and the latest Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. This enhances the efficiency and conservation of consumption and consolidate DEWA’s position as one of the most prominent and outstanding utilities worldwide.

DEWA also installed over two million smart electricity and water meters in Dubai to help customers proactively manage and monitor their usage,” added Al Tayer.

DEWA has made significant achievements in developing its water network to enhance its efficiency and reliability as well raise the amount of water flow to meet the needs of sustainable development and meet the growing demand. This is according to the highest standards of quality, availability, reliability, and efficiency. 

DEWA has become one of the most innovative utilities worldwide. Its results surpassed top European and American companies by reducing the electricity network losses to 3.3% compared 6-7% in Europe and the US in 2020. DEWA reduced the water network losses to 5.3% compared to 15% in North America.
