[미국] 에이비스 버짓그룹·SK그룹 산하 에버차지, 지난 공항서

이 스테잇은 EV의 임대 수요를 늘리는 데 필요한 수요를 충족시키는 데 필요한 정지를 구축하는 에이비스 버짓그룹의 전략을 지원한다. 

 

에이비스 버짓 그룹(Avis Budget Group)과 SK그룹 회사이자 대형 전기차(EV) 충전 장치 및 관리 시스템의 부각 제공업체인 에버차지(EverCharge)가 주민주에 현재 있는 부하 부시 국제공항(IAH)에 전국 수의 EV 충전소를 폐지했습니다. 이 충전소는 에이비스 버짓의 EV와 경기장에서 임대할 수 있는 플러그인 하이브리드(PHEV)에 전력을 공급할 것이다. 에버차지 공장은 26일 에이비스 버짓그룹, 에버차지, SK그룹 임원을 통해 폭로했다. 

에버차지의 특허받은 로드 밸런싱 소프트웨어인 스마트파워는 전기 부하를 관리 및 제어하고, EV의 충전 패턴을 분석하고, 개별 차량의 필요에 따라 가용 전력을 지능적으로 할당함으로써 대규모 네트워크형 EV 충전을 가능하게 한다. SmartPower는 에이비스과 같은 에버차지 파트너가 기존의 충전 시스템에서 사용할 수 있는 것보다 더 많은 스테이션을 설치할 수 있도록 지원한다. 기존의 에너지 그리드에 대한 부담이나 비용이 많이 드는 유틸리티 업그레이드가 필요하지 않다. 에버차지는 여러 곳에 스테이션을 두고 있지만 공항에서 대규모 충전 솔루션은 이번이 처음이다.

에이비스의 사장 겸 CEO인 조 페라로(Joe Feraro)는 "최적의 충전 인프라는 전기화된 비행대로의 원활한 전환을 지원하기 위해 필요한 조건이다. 휴스턴 공항에서 에이비스의 파트너십은 미국 전역의 공항에서 확장 가능한 비행대 전기화 계획의 모델 역할을 하도록 설계되었다. 또한 전기화가 이동성의 미래이며, ele을 포함한 비행대에서 지속 가능한 옵션을 보유하고 있다는 에비스의 신념을 보여주는 최신 사례이기도 하다. 크릭 및 연료 효율적인 차량은 회사 비즈니스 전략의 핵심 부분이다.

에이비스 버짓 그룹은 전기화와 관련된 일부 인프라 문제를 해결하는 이와 같은 파트너십을 통해 2030 ESG(Environmental, Social & Governance) 목표를 달성해 운영에서 발생하는 절대 온실가스 배출량을 30% 줄일 수 있을 것으로 예상된다고 밝혔다. 에버차지 스테이션은 국가의 전기 이동성으로의 전환을 지원하는 인프라와 첨단 기술에 투자하기 위한 에이비스 버짓 그룹의 약속을 가시적으로 상기시키는 역할을 할 것이라고 했다.

이번 제휴는 지난해 국내 2위 그룹인 SK그룹이 에버차지를 인수한 데 이은 것이다. SK그룹은 2030년 전 세계 기후변화 대응에 필요한 탄소 감축 목표의 1%인 2억t을 감축하겠다는 약속을 이행하기 위해 에버차지 등 미국 에너지 솔루션과 지속가능한 기술에 수십억달러를 투자하고 있다.

정준유 SK그룹 부회장 겸 미국 기업 및 정부 업무 책임자는 "미국 자동차 시장 전반에 EV를 도입하는 것은 고무적인 일이지만 이러한 성장을 위해서는 우리의 에너지 시스템의 변화가 필요하다"라며 "에이비스 버짓 그룹과 에버차지의 협력은 임대 고객들에게 더 깨끗한 형태의 교통수단으로 가는 명확한 경로에 필요한 인프라를 제공하기 위한 것이다."라고 말했다.

아울러, 에이비스 버짓 그룹과 에버차지는 휴스턴 공항의 출범에 이어 올해 이 파트너십을 추가 공항 위치로 확대할 계획이다.

Avis Budget Group and SK Group’s EverCharge Launch Large-Scale Electric Vehicle Charging Solution at Houston Airport

 

Palo Alto, Calif. and Parsippany, N.J. (January 26, 2023) – Avis Budget Group (Nasdaq: CAR) and EverCharge, an SK Group company and a leading provider of large-scale electric vehicle (EV) charging devices and management systems, has launched a significant number of EV charging stations at the George Bush International Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas. The stations will power Avis and Budget’s fleet of EVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) available for rent at the airport. The EverCharge stations will be unveiled by executives from Avis Budget Group, EverCharge, and SK Group today.

EverCharge’s patented load balancing software, SmartPower, enables large-scale, networked EV charging by managing and controlling electric loads, analyzing the charging patterns of EVs, and intelligently allocating available power based on the individual vehicle’s need. SmartPower empowers EverCharge partners, such as Avis Budget Group, to install more stations than would be available with traditional charging systems, without a strain to the existing energy grid or the need for costly utility upgrades. Although EverCharge has stations at multiple locations, this is the first large-scale charging solution at an airport.
